Dont Come back Ahmed Faraz

English Translation of Us ne kahaa sun by AHMED FARAZ

She said: listen

She said: listen
Don't come back if
you think it
to fulfill your promise.
People with obligations are
either compelled or
are tired of separations.
Go and fulfill others' desires
and fall in love with other women.
I will not call you.
But when you burn inside
with the blaze of wanting me,
needing me,
and your heart weeps,
you can then
come back to me.

(original) Us ne kahaa suno

Us ne kahaa sun
Ahad nibhaane kii Khaatir mat aana
Ahad nibhaane vaale aksar majaburi ya
Mahjuri ki thakan se lauTaa karte hain
Tum jaao aur dariyaa dariyaa pyaas bujhaao
Jin aankhon mein Duubo
Jis dil mein bhi utro
Meri talab aavaz na degii
Lekin jab meri chahat aur meri Khvahish ki lau
Itni taiz aur itni uunchii ho jaaye
Jab dil rode
Tab lauT aanaa ..!

Karāchi City Of Lights ...

Karachi is the largest city, main seaport and the financial capital of Pakistan and the capital of the province of Sindh. It is the 20th largest city of the world in terms of metropolitan population, and is Pakistan's premier centre of banking, industry, and trade. Karachi is also the home of Pakistan's largest corporations that are involved in textiles, shipping, automotive industry, entertainment, arts, fashion, advertising, publishing, software development and medical research. It also serves as a major hub of higher education in South Asia, and the wider Islamic World [5]. Karachi has been ranked as a Beta world city, as of 2008.

Karachi enjoys its prominent position due to its geographical location on a bay, making it the financial capital of the country. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It was the original capital of Pakistan until the construction of Islamabad, and is the location of the Port of Karachi, Port Bin Qasim, one of the region's largest and busiest ports. The city's population has increased dramatically at the time of Partition when hundreds of thousands of refugees from India came to settle in the city. Since independence from Britain in 1947, the city's vibrant economy has attracted migrants from all over Pakistan, surrounding countries such as Iran, Tajikistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and further beyond. Despite a history of political turmoil, the city continues to attract those seeking prosperity and has shown consistent growth [8].

Karachi city is spread over 3,530 km² (2,193 sq mi) in area. It is locally known as the "City of Lights" (روشنين جو شهر) for its liveliness, and the "City of the Quaid" (شهرِ قائد), having been the birth and burial place of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, who also made the city his home after Pakistan's independence.

Karachi is home to some of Pakistan's important cultural institutions. The National Academy of Performing Arts, located in the newly renovated Hindu Gymkhana offers a two year diploma course in performing arts that include classical music and contemporary theatre. The All Pakistan Music Conference, linked to the 45-year old similar institution in Lahore, has been holding its Annual Music Festival since its inception in 2004. The Festival is now a well-established feature of the city life of Karachi that is attended by more than 3000 citizens of Karachi as well as people from other cities. The National Arts Council (Koocha-e-Saqafat) also has musical performances and Mushaira (poetry recitations). The Kara Film Festival organized annually showcases independent Pakistani and international films and documentaries.

The everyday lifestyle of Karachi differs substantially from that of other Pakistani towns. Cricket is the most popular sport of the city, and is usually played in many small grounds around the city. Gully cricket, is played in the narrow by-lanes of the city. Night time cricket can be seen at weekends when people play brightly lit night matches on less traversed city streets. The major venue for cricket matches is the National Stadium but matches are also hosted at the UBL Sports Complex, The A.O. Cricket Stadium, the KCCA Cricket Ground, the Karachi Gymkhana Field and the DHA Cricket Stadium. A popular local game is Malh (Sindhi: ملهه). All Sindh Malh ُOrganization hosts All Sindh Malakhirro every year in Karachi.

Other popular sports in the city are hockey, boxing, association football, golf, table tennis, snooker, squash, and horse racing. Sports like badminton, volleyball and basketball are also popular in schools and colleges. Football is especially popular in Lyari Town which has always been a football-mad locality in Karachi. The Peoples Football Stadium is perhaps the largest football stadium in Pakistan with respect to capacity, easily accommodating around 40,000 people. In 2005, the city hosted the SAFF Cup Football Tournament at this ground, as well as the Geo Super Football League 2007 which attracted capacity crowds during the games.

The secret under this rotating dome is....

The bright sun is hidden, the night shows its face
The night's hair is spread on shoulders of the earth

This black dress is preparation for some one's mourning
Perhaps the Nature's assemblage for the sun is mourning

The sky is casting a spell over the talking lip
The night's magician is watching the awakened eye

The wind current is submerged in the river of silence
However, the tolling bell's sound comes from the distance

Heart which in love's turmoil is evading the world
Has dragged me here far from the maddening crowd

I am the spectator of the spectacle of disappointments
I am the associate of those sleeping in solitude's corner

O My restlessness! Wait and let me rest awhile
And let me shed a few tears at this habitation

O those steeped in a swoon, "Where are you?
Tell me something of the land where you live

Is that world also one of prevarication?
Is that world also one of denizens' struggle?

Is Man engulfed by sorrow in that land also?
Is Man's heart suppressed and helpless in that land also?

Does the moth burn itself in candle's love in that land also?
Does the tale of flower and nightingale exist in that garden also?

In this world a single hemistich perturbs the heart
Does there also the warmth of verse soften the heart?

This world's relations and alliances life's woes are
Are similar sharp thorns present in that garden also?

The daily bread and a million calamities this world has
Does the soul freedom from anxieties in that world has?

Are the thunder, the farmer, the harvest there also?
Are the caravan and the robber's fear there also?

Do birds collect bits of straw for nests there also?
Is the search for bricks and clay for house there also?

Are the humans unaware of their reality there also?
Are they after nations' and customs' discrimination there also

Does garden not cry at the nightingale's wail there also?
Like this world is there no sympathy in that world also?

Does the Paradise a garden or a restful mansion constitute?
Or does the Eternal Beauty's Unveiled Face it constitute ?

Does hell a method of burning away sins constitute?
Or it in flames of fire a way of discipline constitute?

Has walking given way to speedy flying in that world?
What is the secret of what is called death by denizens of this world?

Life eases the heart's restlessness in this world
Is human knowledge also restricted in that world?

Does the separated heart get satisfaction by sight there also?
Are "Lan Tarn" saying the rs of that land also

Does the soul get solace in longing there also?
Is man a victim of desire to learn there also ?

Ah! Is that land also filled with darkness?
Or with Love's light is completely illuminated?

Tell us what the secret under this rotating dome is
Death is a pricking sharp thorn in the human breast !
